Economic Profile System
About the Economic Profile System
Understanding local and regional socioeconomics is critical to good decision-making. The Economic Profile System generates customized socioeconomic reports for U.S. communities, counties, states, and in some cases congressional districts and Indian Country. A web-based tool designed for the general public, the Economic Profile System is free and easy to use.
Users can generate profile reports focused on one of 14 topics ranging from demographics and local economics to land use, tourism, and agriculture. Forty years of data provide context and reveal trends. Several geographical areas can be selected to aggregate or compare data. Reports can be downloaded as Excel or PDF files.
Economic Profile System reports are based on credible public data sources such as the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Department of Interior, and U.S. Department of Agriculture. Data are updated continuously.
The Economic Profile System was developed with funding from the Bureau of Land Management, USDA Forest Service, and the Kresge Foundation.
