Dan has more than a decade of experience in nonprofit financial management. As Headwaters Economics’ Finance and Contracts Manager, he oversees the organization’s financial systems and operations, working in partnership with his colleagues to identify and evaluate opportunities and manage risks. His experience in program assessment and all levels of financial administration helps Headwaters Economics steward its resources responsibly and plan well for the future.
Dan has lived, worked, and played in Bozeman, Montana for almost 20 years, and he is committed to maintaining the attraction of small towns and their quality of life. This is woven into his contributions to Headwaters Economics’ research and reporting.
Prior to joining Headwaters Economics, Dan served as a finance director and project manager for a community nonprofit dedicated to conserving open spaces and creating trail systems. He has also served as Board Treasurer for a local educational nonprofit. An avid outdoorsman, Dan can be found backpacking, skiing, or rafting whenever time and weather allow.
Dan is a cum laude graduate of Williams College and has also studied at Oxford University in England.
