DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY: 
The data were provided by NatureServe as a custom data request and are described on the following website: http://www.natureserve.org/getData/dataSets/watershedHucs/index.jsp.  For the weighted species richness, species were weighted by their Natural Heritage Inventory Global Ranks as follows: G5 species were assigned a value of 1, G4 species were assigned a value or 2, G3 species were assigned a value of 3, G2 species were assigned a value of 2, and G1 species were assigned a value of 5.  The weighted species richness was calculated by adding the values assigned to each individual species present in each watershed.
