Headwaters Economics is an independent, nonprofit research group. Our mission is to improve community development and land management decisions in the West.

• Research - We conduct original research that complements the best available information.
• Communications - We translate complex economic and ecological concepts into terms that are easy to understand by non-specialists, and distribute these lessons to audiences who can make a difference.
• Technology - In order to provide superior, accessible research to the widest audience possible, we invest heavily in technology development.
• Training - We conduct workshops in the field to facilitate discussions and assist with implementing key strategies.
